The police have filed a case against a person on the charge of raping an 18-year-old college girl of village Sansaelo under the Sukinda police station of Jajpur district.
“The physically-disabled father of the girl filed an FIR in the police station on Monday alleging that his daughter was sexually assaulted by her close relative Barun Mohanty, son of lamodar Mohanty on September 10,” said IIC of Sukinda police station Tofan Bag on Tuesday.
The accused took the girl to Jajpur Road. The victim girl reads in Plus II in the women’s college at Jajpur Road. But on the way, the accused raped her and she sustained injuries on her body. The accused admitted her in a private hospital in Cuttack. He informed the girl’s parents thatshe was injured in a road accident. But the girl told her parents in the hospital that she was raped by the accused, who also tried to kill her, the IIC further informed, adding that the accused has been booked under
Sections 376 (rape) and 307 (attempted to murder) of IPC. The accused fled from his house after the police filed the case against him, he said, adding that the girl is now undergoing treatment in the hospital.
