The Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) has opposed the State Government’s move to appoint Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers as Registrars in different universities. “Posting of OAS officers as Registrars in the past has made the university administration more complicated and has not solved any problem,” said secretary of the Mahasangh’s higher education wing Dr Narayan Mohanty in a statement here on Wednesday.
Condemning the recent appointment of elected office-bearers of recognised teachers’ associations in administrative posts in the Higher Education Department, Dr Mohanty said that the move has created a bad precedent. “These administrative officers are taking steps that are detrimental to the interest of their opponents in the cadre, forgetting their duties as office-bearers,” he added.
