A high school teacher on Monday was arrested by Patkura police for allegedly outraging the modesty of a class 10th girl student. The accused was identified as Kapila Samantaray, a teacher of Janpada Girls’ High School.
The victim minor girl alleged on January 13 before her parents that she was repeatedly harassed sexually by the accused teacher. As a result, the girl’s father on Sunday lodged an FIR at Patkura police station against the accused teacher.
Acting on the FIR, Patkura police registered a case and on Sunday arrested the accused teacher. Samantaray was produced before the SDJM Court of Kendrapada, where he was remanded in jail custody after his bail plea was rejected, informed SP Dayanidhi Gochhait.
