Md Nasir, Tax Collector, Rajgangpur Municipality, Sundargarh, was arrested in a bribery case on Wednesday.
He demanded and received Rs 13,000 for updating the holding tax of last three years and processing the file for creating a new holding number at a low price for the complainant.
A trap was laid on Wednesday, wherein accused Nasir was caught red handed by a team of Odisha Vigilance in front of the main gate of Rajgangpur Municipality office. Later, simultaneous searches were conducted on the residential house of Nasir at Rajgangpur town and his office room. He was to be forwarded to court soon.
