The Tata Sponge management has finally agreed to provide employment to land losers as per decision taken in a meeting presided over by Sub-Collector, Champua, Gauhari Behera.
Sources revealed that the land oustees of Tata Sponge factory set up 35 years back at Bilaipada in the Joda block were making demands for employment in the factory at different forum since a long period but was unheard of by the management of the factory. At last, the affected people had to sit in dharana in front of the main gate of the factory after which district administration interfered in the matter.
In the meeting the land losers demanded permanent employment in the company. After hearing the views of both parties Sub- Collector, Champua opined that land acquisition being a very sensitive issues, the management should consider it very sympathetically.
It was agreed that 30 unskilled people will be given employment by September 25 in the 1st phase and the case of rest 64 affected people will be considered subsequently in next 6 months.
Those unskilled people will be provided training to make them skilled so that they can be absorbed permanently in the company in future.
