The Bhubaneswar Branch of EIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a seminar titled “Role of Income Tax Settlement Commission” on Saturday here.
The meeting was inaugurated by chief guest Income Tax Settlement Commission, Kolkata Vice Chairman Dinesh Kumar Gupta. Income Tax Settlement Commission, Kolkata Director (Investigation) El Ruatkimi attended as guest of honour. Chartered Accountants (CA) Mihir Kumar Sahu, Amit Kumar Agarwalla and Chiranjeebi Jena were present.
KC Sarangi gave keynote address. Gupta stressed that he is in Bhubaneswar to create awareness about the Income Tax Settlement Commission and presented a detailed procedure as to who can approach the commission and the various hearing procedures.
Sarangi presented a detailed deliberation on various case laws pertaining to commission. The meeting was attended by more than 100 CAs from Bhubaneswar and witnessed a very knowledge intensive and interactive session. CA Janhabi Deo coordinated.
