The Odisha Rajya Talgur Samabaya Sangha organised a buyers’ and sellers’ meet here on Tuesday with around 100 entrepreneurs from the Palmgur sector participated in the programme.
Inaugurating the event, Director of Industries Nityananda Palai said this buyer-seller event would help the artisans export their products to the international market.
“There is good response from the artisans to be engaged under this industry. It is because of the reason that by getting training and exposure, the artisans are also to know the modern techniques of manufacture of both edible and non edible palm products within accommodative time and recourses,” said Palai.
To develop the skills of the artisans on production of Palmgur and maintain quality and diversification of the product, a Common Facility Centre would be set up at luburisingh at R Udayagiri in Gajapati district during the current financial year, sources said.
