Former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Abhaykant Pathak was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED on Tuesday in connection with two alleged money laundering cases lodged against him. As per reports, he was interrogated at the ED’s office Bhubaneswar here. The agency has also summoned Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi and his daughter for questioning. Though the father-daughter duo had been summoned earlier for appearance, they failed to make an appearance, following which ED has summoned them for the second time.The investigating agency is also planning to question Pathak’s son Akash, who is in jail in connection with a job scam. Earlier on December 3, 2020, the ED had launched a probe into money laundering charges and financial affairs of Abhay and his son Akash who came under the lens of the Vigilance police for their jet-setting lifestyle. The anti-graft agency had asked the ED and Income Tax Department to investigate into the financial dealings of the father-son duo under the Prevention of Money-laundering Act (PMLA) and Benami Transaction Act.
