Switzerland Member of Parliament Dr Niklaus S Gugger, Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan Dr Andreas Baum and Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) co-founder Dr Anshu Sharma visited Pentakota urban slum and Sadar Block in Puri district on Tuesday.
The officials visited and reviewed the relief work undertaken with Swiss support to assist the families affected during Cylone Fani.
Besides, SEEDS supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has 600 family kits were distributed in Puri municipality and Sadar block.
Dr Gugger appreciated the SEEDS team for extending a helping hand to these communities, in terms of replenishing their resources of drinking water and essential items for daily living.
The SEEDS has also focused on preventive measures for any disease outbreak through public promotion of hygiene practices.
