Suspended CDMO reinstated in Govt job

Former Sundargarh CDMO in-charge Pankaj Patel, who had been suspended from his post a few days ago, was reinstated by the State Government on Friday even though he on Thursday had remarked in an interview to a TV channel that ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative is a ‘stunt show’ by the Government.

The Government, after revoking the suspension order, posted Patel as Senior Consultant of Medicine at the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital.

Patel had further said in his interview that he had been suspended on the basis of public complaints without considering the veracity of the allegations. He also said he was not given a chance to present his side of the story.

He further termed the Government’s decision to suspend him as ‘arbitrary.’ The Government should take steps to improve the infrastructure in hospitals and also post adequate manpower in the hospitals to improve their functioning.

Otherwise, the 5T formula would not be successful, he opined.

On October 13, Patel had been suspended on charges of negligence and lapses in implementation of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.
