BJP national secretaries Suresh Pujari and Siddarth Nath Singh and many other party leaders were severely injured as West Bengal police lathicharged them during a chit-fund protest rally on Thursday.
A party release informed that the West Bengal police resorted to lathicharge at party leaders and workers while they were staging protest meetings against the multi-crore chit fund scam at different places in the State (West Bengal).
Pujari, who is BJP co-in-charge of West Bengal, attended such a protest meeting organised by West Bengal State BJP.
BJP Odisha president KV Singh Deo condemned the police attack on leaders stating that the West Bengal Government is trying to divert attention of people towards the multi-crore chit fund scam by using police forces. “The attack is inhuman,” Singh Deo said.
