A man from Ganjam district, who was returning from Surat, died on board the Ahmedabad-Puri Express on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Biswanath Jena of Khandauli village in the district.
Jena’s health condition had deteriorated while he was travelling in train and died around 11 pm. He was travelling along with three others. Jena was travelling to his hometown for some work. He was supposed to get down at Khallikote station. He was suffering from diabetes but had stopped taking his medicines for past few days.
The exact cause of his death was yet to be ascertained.The Berhampur Government Railway Police (GRP) has started an investigation into matter.
“We have detained three co-passengers and they would undergo tests for Covid-19.,” police said.
