Demanding a CBI or a judicial probe into the extensive irregularities in lord Jagannath’s Ghata Parivartan rituals, the Odisha Suraksha Sena on Thursday threatened to gherao the Naveen Nivas here on Saturday.
A judicial probe into the rituals beginning from Banajaga Yatra to selection of Daru and later Ghata Parivaran (the key ritual of the Nabakalebar festival), conducted by Daitapatis would reveal all the truths behind such messes, said Suraksha Sena president Abhisek Joshi.
Citing examples, Joshi alleged, “While the Banajaga Yatra is to be carried out in top secrecy, it was conducted in openness. Similarly, the Daitapats chose incorrect Darus by taking huge monetary benefits.”
The Sena also demanded stern action against Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Suresh Mohapatra, law Minister Arun Sahoo and the Daitapatis responsible for all those irregularities, said Sena general secretary Gajendra Behera.
