The Juvenile Justice Board here on Friday rejected the bail plea of three juveniles who were involved in the Sujata Bairgi rape and murder case.
Notably, after the District Judge and Sessions Court of Kendrapada on November1 last gave its final judgment that the accused in the rape and murder case are juveniles, the lawyers of the trio had filed a petition before the Juvenile Justice Board for their bail.
On November 15, while adjudicating on the matter, the board rejected the bail petitions of the trio. Minor Dalit girl Bairagi of Kharanashi village under Mahakalapada police limits was allegedly gang raped and set ablaze by the accused on July 28 last. later, the girl had succumbed to burn injuries on August 8 after battling with her life at the hospital bed for 12 days.
