Subsidised LPG price down by `1.49

PNS

The price of non-subsidised LPG at Bhubaneswar would decrease by Rs 30.50 per cylinder from February 1 due to a fall in price of LPG in international market and strengthening of dollar-rupee exchange rates.

Accordingly, the upfront cash payment by the consumer of domestic LPG would also reduce by Rs 30.50 per cylinder. Domestic LPG consumer would now be required to make upfront cash payment of Rs 686.00 per cylinder in place of Rs 716.50 per cylinder.

As domestic LPG prices are subsidised by the Central Government, the effective price after subsidy to consumer would reduce by Rs.1.49 per cylinder (from Rs 505.83 in January 2019 to Rs.504.34 for the month of February 2019). The reduction is on account of GST impact on decrease in price of non-subsidised LPG.

The balance amount is borne as subsidy (Rs 181.66 per cylinder) by the Central Government and is being transferred to the bank account of LPG consumers after purchase and delivery of a refill.
