Subarna's phone talk in court premises raises eyebrows

PNS

Use of phone by chit fund accused former MlA Subarna Nayak in court premises for hours has raised eyebrows over security officials’ credentials. Nayak, an accused in the Nabadigant chit fund scam, was seen talking over a mobile phone in the court premises. He was produced in the court amid tight security for hearing. What disappointed many was that security officials remained mute spectator when Nayak was talking over phone for a long time.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police RP Sharma said that the alleged matter would be investigated after examining the CCTV footage and action would be taken against those who have neglected duties.

Notably, ADG Prison SM Narwen had advised the Commissionerate Police to ensure that undertrials don’t use mobile phones during transit from jails to courts. He had advised the twin city DCPs to take stern action against security personnel for negligence in duty.
