The much-awaited 25th Subarna loka Mahotsav kick –started here on Sunday with a Puja performed at the Maa Sureswari Temple and a Mashal Yatra taken out.
The Mashal rally passed through the main thoroughfares of the town before it reached the venue, Gandhi field. locals and members of various outfits participated in the event.
While Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari attended as chief guest, Birmaharajpur MlA Padmanav Behera, Collector Dasirathi Satpathy, ZP Chairman Usha Kumari, ADJ Pratima Panda, SP Prafulla
Patra and DRDA PD Suryanarayan Dash graced as guests. Pujari said a loka Mahotsav provides a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and also disseminates information on various
Government programmes. Subarnapur has got a special place in the State’s art and culture map, he added.
Pradyumna Sahu coordinated the programme. A stunning cultural programme by different troupes held the people spellbound.
