Stop power cuts: Ganjam Bar body

PNS

A delegation of more than 50 members of the Ganjam Bar Association led by its president Kapileswar Pattnaik in a procession went to the Southco office here and submitted a memorandum to the company vice-president demanding immediate withdrawal of the scheduled two-hour power cut in the morning as it causes a great deal of inconvenience to the denizens of the city.

The memorandum also demanded withdrawal of the additional security deposit claim made by the company as reflected in the monthly generated energy bills of the consumers without any valid reason. In case the scheduled power cut of two hours in morning and the claim of additional security deposit from the consumers are not withdrawn, the Bar Association would be compelled to stir up agitation against the company and for all consequences thereof, the company alone would be held responsible, warned the memorandum.

Among others who joined the delegation included association secretary Seetansu Sekhar Panda, vice-president KM Panigrahi and joint secretary Sanjib Kumar Patra.
