Protesting carelessness of police, hundreds of traders on Monday resorted to Rasata Roko at Hata Bazar here and demanded immediate arrest of a fugitive thief.
Notably, the thief who was arrested a week ago and who is involved in several dacoity cases had slipped away from police custody on Octobeer 18.
A few traders from Hata bazar here had picked up the miscreant and handed him over to the headquarters police. The cops had started an investigation and received vital clues relating to several theft incidents occurred in Jagatsinghpur Township in last fortnight.
Responding to the traders stir the case was shifted to one senior cop for conducting a probe. Meanwhile four suspects have been detained, informed the IIC Jagatsinghpur police station.
