The Nayapalli police on Thursday recorded the statements of wonder boy Budhia Singh and his mother Sukanti under Section 161 of CrPC as to why Budhia had been absent in the Sports Hostel without taking due permission.
According to sources, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) would also record the statements of Budhia and his mother.
Notably, Budhia and his mother returned to Bhubaneswar from Mumbai on Wednesday evening after a long disappearance.
On his return, Budhia had said he and his mother had gone to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu and from there to Mumbai before returning to Bhubaneswar.
When asked who sponsored their trip, he said, “The producer of the movie Budhia Singh: Born to Run took us for promotion of the film.”
The movie on the amazing story of Budhia would hit theatres across the country on August 5.
