An amount of Rs 225 crore was on Monday sanctioned from the State Disaster Response Fund for containment of COVID-19 in the State. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy here. The amount was sanctioned in the favour of the Health & Family Welfare Department.
The fund would be utilised for measures for quarantine, sample collection, screening, provision for temporary accommodation, food, medical care, etc., for the people sheltered in quarantine camps, cluster containment operations, setting up of additional testing labs and procurement of essential equipment, personal protective gears, etc.
