The State registered 580 new Covid-19 cases in 22 districts and the State pool on Thursday, with which the total caseload increased to 10,18,298.Among the fresh cases were 77 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
On Wednesday, 457 positive cases had been detected in the State.In the last 24 hours, 60,722 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.95 per cent. The active cases stood at 5,963. Khordha district reported the day’s highest 261 infections followed by Cuttack with 87, Jajpur 29, Puri 18, Baleswar 17, Jagatsinghpur 13, Jharsuguda 11 and Kendrapada and Sundargarh 10 each.
The districts recording below-10 cases were Dhenkanal nine, Bargarh eight, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Bhadrak seven each, Rayagada, Sambalpur six, Angul six , Koraput four, Deogarh two and Keonjhar, Subarnapur and Malkangiri one each.Besides, 59 cases were reported from the State pool. Four more persons succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, pushing the total death toll to 8,118. Cuttack district reported two deaths and Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur one each.So far, 10,04,164 patients have recovered from the disease in the State.
