The State on Saturday recorded a slight dip in the number of Covid-19 deaths and positive cases. Thirty-nine deaths were reported on the day, with which the total toll rose to 2,912.
The 39 deaths included Khordha district’s six, Angul, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Rayagada, Sundargarh three each, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Boudh, Cuttack and Deogarh two each and Kendrapada, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balangir and Jagatsinghpur one each.The 7,729 new positive cases reported on the day surged the total tally to 7, 98,699 in the State. Out of the new cases, 4,331 cases were from quarantine while 3,398 were local contact cases. Khordha district continued to report the maximum daily cases at 1,062 followed by Cuttack with 720, Angul 449, Baleswar 426, Mayurbhanj 442, Jajpur 388 Puri 333, Rayagada 310, Bhadrak 287, Sundargarh 270, Jagatsinghpur 255, Dhenkanal 252, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh 219 each, Bargarh 189, Kalahandi 167, Keonjhar 166, Sambalpur 161, Boudh 128, Malkangiri 104, Deogarh 72, Balangir and Subarnapur 61 each, Kandhamal 52 and Nuapada 48.Besides, 188 cases were reported from State pool.The active cases in State stood at 82,679 and cumulative samples tested were 1,20,40,830.
