The Ganjam district BJP has said that while the Union Government under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi is working hard to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and has successfully brought indigenous vaccines and live saving drugs within a short span of time with the wholehearted support of our great scientists, the BJD Government in the State is trying to get political mileage on the current massive vaccination programme.
It is because of the collective efforts of the Prime Minister and the scientists, nearly 30 crore people have already been vaccinated in the country successfully free of cost, the BJP claimed.
But the ruling BJD Government which is in power for more than two decades, being afraid of the popularity of Modi and his myriad people welfare projects, has displayed the posters carrying photograph of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at all the vaccination centres of Ganjam district only to take the credit of ongoing mega vaccination drive, said district BJP president Bibhuti Bhusan Jena. By this, the BJD is lowering its standard and credibility as a political outfit in the State, he added.
CM Patnaik with an intention to take political advantage befooled the public and had declared that, the State Government would procure vaccines at its own cost and vaccinate all the people free of cost. He had floated global tender in vain, Jena alleged.
And when its real face was exposed, the State Health Minister wrote a letter to the Prime Minister urging him to provide vaccines to the State free of cost, Jena pointed out.
But on June 21, Modi had already declared that all the people of the country would be vaccinated free of cost. This made the opposition, including BJD scary, he said.
Jena asked when the Union Government has given 100% free vaccines for the public, why the vaccination centers and the post-vaccination card given to the public would carry only the photograph of the Chief Minister.
The BJP demanded that all the vaccination centres immediately display the Prime Minister’s photograph.
