The Congress on Saturday alleged that State Government has provided false information about mega Kharasrota water supply project in Kendrapada district. The Environment Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report is totally false and fabricated. As project is coming under Bhitarkanika eco-sensitive zone, before commencement of project Eco Sensitive Zone Committee’s permission should have been taken, said party in a Press conference here. The Government is telling a lie that the ESIA report has been prepared by the IIT Hyderabad to hoodwink the people. If report has been prepared by IIT Hyderabad, how much money has spent for it, questioned party media convenor Satya Prakash Nayak. Besides, why the report is being kept with project’s executing agency Megha Infra.
Then who has submitted fake report, Megha infra or Government, he further asked. The Congress demanded Central Government’s intervention and action against guilty officials and contractor for violating the law.
