The 4th Triennial Conference the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and Workers, Odisha State Coordination Committee, was conducted in the premises of Bhubaneswar GPO on Sunday with working president DebabrataMohanty in the chair. General secretary RN Dhal read out the Triennial Report and income-expenditure statement which were approved unanimously.
The open session was inaugurated by CITU State president JanardanPati.
The conference expressed concern over the issue of merger of Post Office Small Savings Scheme with the loss-making India Post Payments Bank Limited which is nothing but privatisation through phase-wise corporatisation of the largest postal network in the word.
It was unanimously resolved, inter alia, to extend solidarity to the nationwide postal strike on August 10.
The conference unanimously elected Rabindranath Dhal, BruhaspatiSamal and DiptiRanjanMohanty as the State president, general secretary and financial secretary, respectively for the ensuing session.
