State BJP: 7 VPs, 4 GSs, 10 secys inducted

PABITRA SENAPATY

BJP State president Basant Panda on Sunday announced his team of office-bearers which included seven vice-presidents, four general secretaries, a general secretary (organisation), a treasurer and 10 secretaries.

The list showed a major change in which the important general secretary (organisation) post went to Sarada Satpathy replacing longtime incumbent Prasanna Mishra. The post is significant in view of its vast responsibility and being usually held by a leader having RSS background.

Similarly, Panda inducted many new and experienced faces in different posts. Most of the senior leaders were accommodated as ‘permanent invitees’.

“We have finalised a list of 24 officer-bearers. Besides, there are 79 executive members, 38 invitees and 84 special invitees in the team. I am hopeful that the team will take messages of Modiji to the people and inform them about the bad governance of the State Government,” said Panda.

Even though the BJP constitution allows for 10 VPs, Panda named only seven and said the rest three would be named later soon.

He said all the office-bearers were selected on consensus with a balance maintained vis-à-vis caste categories, gender, region and age equations.

The vice-presidents are Samir Mohanty, Nayan Kishore Mohanty, Rajkishore Das, Bishnu Sethi, Namitarani Sahu, Sukeshi Oram and Aswini Kumar Sarangi.

General secretaries are Prithviraj Harichandan, Bhrugu Baxipatra, Ananta Nayak and Ranjan Patel. Sudarshan Goyal was taken as treasurer.

The secretaries are Dilip Mallick, Dr Jatin Mohanty, Dhiren Senapati, Simantini Jena, Sovana Mohanty, Sabita Nanda, Bibhuti Jena, Sisir Gamang, Kalindi Samal and lekhashri Samantsinghar.

Besides, Sajjan Sharma, Sudipta Ray, Golak Prasad Mohapatra and Dilip Mohanty were made party spokespersons.

While Prabhati Parida was named BJP Mahila Morcha president, Tankadhar Tripathy as Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president, Sibaji Mohanty as Kishan Morcha chief, Rabi Nayak as Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha chief, Godinda Chandra Das as Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha chief, Sk Mehtab Mohammed as Minority Morcha president and Krushna Chandra Patra as Other Backward Caste (OBC) Morcha president.
