A meeting of the Sahara Tali Anchala Milita Kriya Anustan Committee ( STAMKAC) was held on Tuesday at Brajanagar under the chairmanship of its president Sanjeba Kumar Patnaik to discuss on the progress in the issue of the merger of sub urban areas and 18 GPs in the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC). It was decided that after February 15 the STAMKAC will arrange a meeting with the MP and MLA of Brahmapur to chalk out a detailed plan for the incorporation of the areas on the outskirts in BMC ambit. The committee would seek a pin pointed time frame from the MP and MLA, Brahmapur for the completion of the entire procedure failing which the committee would be forced to resort to agitation once again.
It would not be out of place to mention here that the STAMKAC has been spearheading an agitation for the last four years on the merger issue.
