The family of deceased album artist Simran is apprehending a threat to their lives as some unidentified persons are following her father in her home town at Jharsuguda.
Her mother, Rani Devi has also informed the matter to police at Jharsuguda and sought help. It might be mentioned here that Simran family hail from Bihar but are presently residing in Jharsuguda. On the other hand, the two day remand of her boyfriend Yug Suna has ended and he has been again sent back to judicial custody.
Notably, Simran was found dead near the old Mahanadi bridge near Burla. At the first phase, police and even common people suspected it to be a case of suicide. But later on during investigation and also after getting the post mortem report, police is now of the opinion that it was a murder and many people including two girls were involved in the incident. But Burla police is yet to confirm all these.
“During the remand period, we have collected many information from Yug, the prime accused of the case and the husband of Simran. We would verify the authenticity of his statement. We would also interrogate persons whose names Yug has mentioned during the course of investigation,” said Burla police station Manas Ranjan Pradhan.
But he refuted the report of newspaper that Simran was gangraped before murder. “There is absolutely no symptom of rape or gangrape,” said Pradhan .
Police apart, the parents and particularly the mother of Simran has also expressed concern over the news of gangrape of her daughter. “Such thing never happened,” says the mother.
“My daughter who was a minor at the time of marriage was tortured by the in-laws and the even by her husband Yug. Hence, it is clear cut case of murder but never, a gangrape,” she added with request not to tarnish the reputation of her daughter after her death.
Further, the involvement of a leader of a national political party is also coming to the picture in Simran’s murder. But police is also tightlipped on this matter too.
