The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishu Bhawan) in Cuttack shut its Outpatient Department (OPD) on Monday after a staff of the ward tested Covid-19 positive.
The OPD would remain shut till further orders, said Sishu Bhawan Superintendent Dr Saroj Satpathy. Later, the OPD was disinfected and sanitised.
Notably, as many as 23 persons from Cuttack district including seven employees of the SCB Medical College Hospital on the day tested positive for the virus. Apart from the seven employees, four patients from the hospital’s isolation ward contracted the virus infection.
As many as five persons from Choudwar area and one each from a private hospital and Pira Bazaar in Jagatpur area contracted the infection.
