PNS

The State Selection Board (SSB) has recruited over 1,500 lecturers in the Non-Government Aided Colleges. The SSB has done it after 20 years after the board

was revived by the Government for recruitment of lecturers.

At a high-level meeting on Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked officials of the Department of Higher Education to ensure posting of these lecturers in a transparent manner.

Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan, Higher Education Principal Secretary G Venugopal Sarma and Higher Education Director Nihar Ranjan Patnaik attended the meeting.

Emphasis has been given to fill up the posts of lecturers in the colleges situated in the backward areas. Instructions have been issued, “No recommendations of anybody will be accepted while deciding the postings.”

As these lecturers are not Government servants, orders of appointment would be issued by respective governing bodies of the Non-Government Aided Colleges. Accordingly, the department’s Principal Secretary has issued orders for counselling, and a calendar has been prepared for the authorities.

Counselling would be conducted on Saturday (September 3) at the Odisha State Bureau of Text

Book Preparation and Production Complex, popularly known as the Pustak Bhawan at Achrya Vihar.
