Senior citizens have a great insight about the challenges of life. So, in such a phase of life, there is a bare need of the time to look after the wellbeing of senior citizens.
In this regard, a Senior Citizens’ Chamber is going to be built at BDA Colony, Bakshi Jagabandhu Nagar, by the Khordha Municipality. The civic body’s Chairperson Kanak Laxmi Mahanty declared this while meeting representatives of the local Baristha Nagarika Mancha.
A permanent structure would be constructed between the vacant space of M-24 and M-25 at BDA Colony. For the purpose, local MLA Jitu Mitra has sanctioned Rs 2 lakh from his LAD fund at the initial stage. As per the proposal, there would be a meeting room as well as a library to be named after Bakshi Jagabandhu, the great warrior of Paika Vidroh.
