Posing a serious threat to the health and safety of consumers, fake FMCG companies manufacturing anything from edible oil, honey to cosmetics and automobile lubricants are mushrooming in various cities and towns of the State.
In a glaring incident, police busted an adulterated sauce manufacturing factory in Rajgangpur town of Sundargarh district and arrested the owner in this connection. Acting on inputs about an adulteration racket being active at Kumbharpada in the town, Rajgangpur police raided the spot and seized as many as 651 bottles of adulterated sauce, a mixer grinder, and packaging materials sporting the logo and label of a company.
A case under Sections 272 and 273 of the IPC has been registered and owner of the factory Anil Kumar Das was arrested.
