The portal would give away five awards with total prize money of Rs 1,05,000, said Good Samaritan trustee and renowned football coach Nanda Kishore Patnaik.

The trust would give Rs 25,000 as prize to four persons in the category of Young Emerging Player of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sports Person of Bygone Era and Rs 5,000 as Kumudini Sports Talent Award to sub junior player in the name of social activist Kumudini Mishra.

A three-member jury panel would be appointed soon to choose best sportspersons from the State, said Sportslogon.com patron Sudhansu Sekhar Deo. The decision of the jury would be declared 10 days before the award ceremony. A souvenir having articles on sports would be released on July 14, he added.

At the first award ceremony held here last year, the trust awarded international-level shooter Shriyanka Sarangi as the sportsperson of the year and Jose Jacob as the coach of the year.

The organisation also awarded former footballer Alla Rakha Khan, world champion women Kabbadi team player Rashmita Sahu and AFC football cup player Runi Nayak.

“We have our own set of agenda to promote and bring the lesser budding talents of the State to the forefront and limelight,” said Sportslogon team members, adding, “Running an Orphanage Football Club for the girl child is one of the prime activities of the portal.”
