Samajwadi Party State committee on Tuesday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to lead an all party delegation to the Prime Minister to demand for Special Category State (SCS) status to Odisha.
“While the demand for SCS status is growing louder in our neighbourhood particlarly in Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattishgarh,so we are pressuring the Centre in the interest of our State,” said Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera, adding,“Being the Chief Minister, Patnaik should lead a delegation of all political parties to apprise the Prime Minister and Finance Minister on the issue,” and move a consensus resolution on the matter in Assembly.
