Sorcery to revive dead child in Ganjam!

PNS

In a bizarre superstitious incident, sorcery rituals were conducted at Chhatrapur for 96 long hours to bring a dead child back to life.

The parents of the child were assured that their son would be alive again following the rituals, which were underway since September 5.The deceased child Sainanda was son of Sachidananda Sahoo of Sundarpur village under Chhatrapur block in Ganjam district.

According to reports, Sainanda, who was suffering from fever, had first been brought to the Chhatrapur Sub-Divisional Hospital, from where he was shifted to the MKCG Medical College Hospital, Brahmapur. later, he was taken to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack where he died.

Instead of taking the body for crematorium at his village even after the child was declared dead by the doctors at the SCB, Sachidananda brought it to his home as his family “felt” the boy to be alive. As per the suggestions of a few villagers, the body was taken to a mango grove, where a woman sorcerer assured the family to revive the chile.

On being informed about the incidence, police reached the spot, but the deceased’s family and villagers prohibited their entry. They urged the police to wait for a day till the dead child woke up!
