Most western parts of the State have gone under dark since Saturday morning as the Unit-I of the Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC)-run Ib Thermal Power Station went out of operation due to leakage in its boiler tube.
When contacted, a plant official said the leakage would be repaired after the boiler unit cools down in around 48 hours. Sources in the plant said the Unit-1 and Unit-II, each of 210-MW capacity, were on in the early morning hours when the Unit-1 suddenly went out of order.
