Smokes: Coromandel halts at Rupsa for 37 minutes

PNS

The Chennai-bound Coromandel Express train halted about 37 minutes near the Rupsa railway station in Baleswar district as it released heavy smokes following application of brakes.

The driver put sudden brakes to stop the train to save a herd of cattle. Surprisingly, the cattle could not be saved, and the train released smokes, creating panic among passengers. The train started moving only after due checks and clearances given by officials.

Baleswar RPF OIC Azmin Mizra said the train billowed smokes due to strong fictions. The train was detained from 6.01 pm to 6.38 pm. No untoward incident occurred, he informed.
