A 14-year-old boy was crushed to the death on the spot when a concrete slab of a school building collapsed on him in Kantabania area on Monday. He was playing with his friends when the mishap took place.
According to sources, the deceased, a Class X student of Sanjapada High school at Kantabania, along with some of his friends, was playing in an abandoned building of the school at around 1pm when the slab fell on in.He was taken to the Angul district headquarters hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. locals complained that the school authorities were not clearing off the abandoned structure though it posed risk to the life of the school goers.
