Students of the Sri Krushna Chandra Gajapati (SKCG) Autonomous College here on Wednesday went on strike after nominations of eight students for the Students’ Union elections were rejected on Tuesday.
An aspirant for president post Hrustachitta Karada, a Plus III second year science student, alleged that his nomination was rejected by the college authorities on the ground of attendance short though he was a regular student.
Other candidates said faculty members of the college do favour to a few students who have acute short of attendance. The faculties are doing injustice to them, they added.
The students demanded the college principal to come up with truth. “The strike will continue till they get justice,” said the students.
