The laboratory of SK Dash Centre of Excellence of Biosciences and Engineering and Technology (SKBET) was inaugurated by AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Dr Batmanabane inaugurating in presence of Dr Sita Kanta Dash, IIT BBS Director Prof Ratnam V Raja Kumar emphasised on collaborative research between the institutes for the productive outcome in research. Dr Dash enlightened the audience on the innovations on probiotics and its importance in maintaining the gut microbiota and his journey in probiotic research when the public awareness about the probiotics was almost nil.
Prof Kumar extended thanks to Dr Sita Kanta Dash for his generous gift for which the center has been able to be formed and appreciated Dr Dash willingness to work for the betterment of the people of Odisha and India.
He also called upon the students to think of entrepreneurship rather than going after the jobs other than their training and take up the challenge of setting up such cutting edge technology centres for the betterment of mankind.
Among others, SKBET center coordinator Prof Saroj Kumar Nayak was present.
