A man killed a youth and injured his daughter by beating them with a stick over their love affair in Sundargarh on Tuesday late night.
The girl is now getting treatment in the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
After receiving an FIR on Wednesday afternoon, Sundargarh police detained the accused and were interrogating him.
According to sources, victim girl Tapaswini Kishan(24) and her lover Balram Budla(30) were attacked by her father Mohan Kishan of Dejidih village under Dharuadih police station on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night at around 10 pm, Balaram had come to Tapaswini's house to drop her at her home and seeing this, Tapaswini's father Mohan asked Balaram why he was not marrying his daughter.
Hearing this, Balram argued with Mohan and in a fit of rage, Mohan picked up a wooden stick and beat Balaram and Tapaswini severely following which Balaram and Tapaswini sustained serious injuries.
locals immediately rushed them to the Sundargarh DHH, but doctors declared Balaram brought dead. Tapaswini was stated to be stable now.
On Wednesday afternoon, Balaram's father lenga Budla lodged an FIR in Dharuadih police station, said Dharuadih police station SI Mili Sahu.
