Vigilance sleuths on Saturday arrested Community Health Centre (CHC) doctor Patitapabana Barik of Gurundia village under Bonei sub-division in Sunadargarh district for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.
Barik had demanded the bribe from a travel agent Bijay Kumar Mohanty, a resident of Gurundia to sanction his bill. Mohanty runs a travel agency and engaged his vehicle in Gurundia CHC on monthly rental basis. When he submitted his bill to get Rs 30, 000 for two months, Barik allegedly demanded bribe to sanction it.
On Mohanty’s complaint, a trap was laid and Barik was caught red-handed in his office room. Vigilance officials are conducting raid in his house at Koel Nagar.
