Four women employees of Bonei Sub-Divisional Veterinary office in Sundargarh district have leveled allegation against Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer (SDVO) Dr Saroj Kumar Pani for mentally and sexually harassing them.
Sundargarh Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) after conducting an inquiry has written to the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development (ARD) Secretary to take action against SDVO Pani. Notably, the employees had brought the allegation against Pani, who has joined as SDVO about one and a half months ago, before the district Collector, the Sundargarh CDVO, the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Secretary and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Director. They alleged that even after office hours, Pani asks them to seat in his office chamber and touches them and takes their mobiles and shoots their photos. Earlier after coming to know about the allegation, Sundargarh Collector Surendra Kumar Meena on the direction of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Secretary had directed the Sundargarh CDVO to conduct an inquiry.
Later, Sundargarh CDVO Pratap Kishor Khamari conducted the probe and recommended action against SDVO Pani.
