Sexagenarian K'pada woman sends Rakhi to PM

RAJESH BEHERA

--After Modi mentioned her as sister in radio talk: Sexagenarian Kamala Moharana of Khairbad village under Kendrapada block, sent a Rakhi made up of waste materials to PM Narendra Modi for the Rakshya Bandhan festival.

The 64-year-old sent a letter to PM Narendra Modi addressing him as her elder brother and requested him to tie her Rakhi. Ever since PM Modi addressed her as Kamala behan (sister) in the 98th edition of Mann ki Baat, Moharana has accepted him as her brother.

Notably,  PM Modi lauded Moharana  in the 98th edition of his radio programme "Mann ki baat"  on February 26 for contributing to the Swaccha Bharat Abhijan drive by making many household articles using waste materials.

She prepared the Rakhi using wrappers of several dry food packets, milk puches, detergent wrappers to make it attractive.

“A sister ties a thread on the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her unconditional love and faith and prays for the long life of her brother. So, I don’t want to miss such an opportunity to show my love and obligation to my elder brother , Modi ji, for making me popular and addressing me as behan in his talk show in the radio. I am sure , PM Modi would love my Rakhi," asserted Moharana, adding, "As Modi ji is staying in Delhi, I cannot go there to tie the Rakhi. So, I sent it by post."
