Head of PG Department of law of the Sambalpur University Prof Minaketan Sahu, who was arrested by the Burla police on Monday on the charge of sexually assaulting a student, was on Tuesday forwarded to court.
“We had detained the professor on yesterday and arrested him later after we found prime facie evidence against him after talking to other students present at the spot on the day of the incident. We have forwarded him to court today,”said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sushil Kumar Panigrahi.
Meanwhile, the professor denied the charges levelled against him, saying they were false and concocted.
