Following reports in media about flesh trade being carried out in some hotels and guesthouses in the Talseri beach in the district, the Marine police swung into action and arrested the managers of two hotels on Saturday.
The duo taken into police custody was identified as Sagar Saikat hotel manager Sadam Shiekh and Sagar Kanya manager Nirapada Rout. The hotels were also sealed by police.
The police team led by SDPO Ankita Kumbhar conducted raids on various hotels and guesthouses, verified various documents, records and registers.
The media reports said the hoteliers and guesthouse owners in Talseri and Udiapur of Bhograi block were operating sex rackets by engaging girls from West Bengal.
But police claimed that during the raids they did not find any objectionable materials during the raids.
