BJP Legislature Party Deputy Leader Bishnu Charan Sethi on Friday expressed regrets over his remarks made about Muslim women in the State Assembly on Thursday.
“I regret for my statement made in the House yesterday. I had made the statement on the basis of reports of Media and newspapers. I didn’t have any intension to hurt anybody. I want that the House runs smoothly,” said Sethi. Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro soon directed to expunge the statement of Sethi and asked media not to publish Sethi’s statement anymore. Earlier in the day, the House had been adjourned from 10.30 am till 11.30 am as Congress members continued protest against his remarks.
