Police detained a security guard engaged with a contract firm of the railways was detained for allegedly killing his colleague in Boudh district. The accused was identified as Prakash Behera, a resident of Khuntiapada village in the district.
The body of the deceased security guard identified as Ranjan Pradhan was recovered from near an under-construction railway bridge at Jogibhogra village under the Boudh police station on Monday morning.
According to reports, Ranjan of Mundipadar village was working as a security guard for a railway contract firm. He was staying with his family at his in-laws’ house in Routbahal village.
Prakash allegedly killed his colleague Ranjan over some unknown reasons on Sunday night, police said.
Police sent the body for postmortem and initiated an investigation by detaining the accused for interrogation to ascertain the reason behind the crime.
