The Academy of Yoga and Oriental Studies (AYOS) organised a lecture on ‘ Secrets of living for One Hundred Years’ at the Fakir Mohan Bhavan here on Sunday with Prof Pramod Chandra Mishra, former Head of Department of Sahitya of the Sri Jagannatha Sanskrit University, Puri, as the speaker of the topic.
The meeting was presided over by Prof Rajkishor Mishra, former Secretary, Odisha Sahitya Akademi. Senior journalist Sugyan Choudhury was guest of honour. AYOS member Mihir Kumar Mishra welcomed the guests and the audience.
In his speech Prof Mishra said, “A man can lead a disease-free life of one hundred years if he follows the principles laid down by our Maharshis. For that, one has to perform good actions and should have willpower to live for a century. There are various physical and moral rules to lengthen one’s life to its maximum limit.”
He explained some formulae and showed some Mudras for getting rid of severe problems like heart conditions, back pain, memory failure, etc. There was a question-answer session after the lecture in which many scholars participated. Sugyan Choudhury said, “Ours is a great culture which requires proper protection and further research.”
AYOS director Dr Indulata Das said the AYOS is trying its best to remember and revisit our own storehouse of knowledge. Rajkishor Mishra, in his presidential address, said, “India has a great treasure in her possession. The knowledge should be applied properly.”
